More from Cayucos…and Cambria

One of my favorite towns is Cambria.  I think I like it so much because there’s just enough there for the family to wander around for the afternoon and have fun, but not be overwhelmed.  There’s some great little stores and great looking old buildings.  Plus, it’s just over the hill from the ocean and a little more protected from the weather.  It seems like everytime I’ve been there, it’s 70 degrees.  We have stopped at Linn’s Farm up the road many times, but this was our first time enjoying their family restaurant in town.  Seriously, best burger I’ve ever had.  Made with nothing but grass fed beef, fresh garlic, smoked gouda…unreal!  Here’s Ian polishing off a plate of ribs.

They also have a great candy store in town, Sweet Offerings, that we visit every time. They make amazing truffles, which happen to be a weakness of mine.

oh my…

A local entertainer…he was great because every song he played, it was at double speed!  “heymistertambourinemanplayasongforme” :)

That’s it for now…

Los Angeles

Earlier this week I was up in LA doing architectural photos for student housing near USC.  Considering the traffic conditions, I decided to hang around town for a while and go shoot some photos for fun.  I went from SC to the financial district and eventually up to the Griffith Park Observatory.  Here are a few of my favorites… enjoy!

Balboa After Dark

One of the things that my family loves to do is to go grab a quick Starbucks and then walk the dog around Balboa Island.  We’ve been doing it since our kids were in strollers.  Actually, Shell and I have been walking around the Island since we were dating.  It’s just one of those things that we always do and for some reason it never seems to get old.  So occasionally I bring my camera along and grab a few photos here and there, which is what I did the other night.  I brought my little tripod and I set it up at a few different points and took some night shots of the homes and water.
