Bailey in Laguna Beach

This afternoon I headed down to Laguna to meet up with Bailey and her mom to take some nice portraits.  I am shooting Bailey’s Bat Mitzvah this summer, so we thought it would be fun to have some new pics of her before her big day!

On the left, Bailey with some new friends, and then catching up on some light reading…

Such a great natural smile :-)

The sun peeked out for about 5 minutes!

It was great hanging with you today Bailey!  You did an awesome job and I’m really looking forward to the big party!

The Groot Family Photos

Today I had the privilege of doing a photo session with the Groot family out in Peter’s Canyon.  I have to say I had a blast hanging out with them.  They were extremely easy to photograph and a whole lot of fun!  When you have beautiful kids that are totally on board with getting their pictures taken, it’s hard to go wrong!

Some nice afternoon glow

Don’t parents wish it was like this all the time!

Working off some extra energy!

I had to make sure I got “the beach” in buddy!  That’s his homemade beach model on the right complete with shells, palm trees, sand and of course, a small ocean!

I had a great time hanging out with you guys today and thanks for being good sports with the bugs and all!

Mammoth trip photos part II

The photo on the left was taken with my iPhone…not too shabby!

The kids had a blast skiing and boarding together

Mishelle is a great photographer!

This shot sums up why I love Mammoth so much.  Awesome snow, no crowd and amazing views!

The picture on the right has a great 1950′s vintage ski feel

Always important to pay attention to all posted signs!

Our last day, we took the kids for a scenic ride to the top of the gondola.

Family shot with the Minarets behind us.  Nice framing Kim!

Mammoth Trip

We just returned from a wonderful weekend full of snowboarding and skiing up in Mammoth Mountain.  This was the third installment of our annual trip with the Moore family.  And this year was extra cool because for the first time we actually skied with our kids!  Here are all of the little rascals hanging out with Wooly.

The weather and snow conditions were some of the best I’ve ever seen, especially for April.  Mammoth is one of my favorite places on earth, summer or winter.  It’s hard as a photographer to not go completely crazy taking photos there.

The top of the mountain was windy, and real cold, but the snow was amazing.

Shell took the photo of me at the top of the Cornice on the right.  I got blown on my butt right after she took it!

Tyler and Zack shredding the mountain

The whole family out on the hill.  Thanks for the photo Ty!

Sweet goggles…

I’ll post some more photos tomorrow….

Where have I been?

When you have a family, work, friends and all that comes with that, it is amazing how fast time can fly by at times.  And with the earliest Easter in something like 150 years, it seems like the year is really flying by.  So what have I been up to?  Well here are a few things.  First, I bought an iPhone.  Now this is no longer big news because I think there are 3rd graders walking around my kid’s school with iPhones.  But I am proud to say, I got a deal!!  My trusty Motorola Razor suffered a fatal trauma that left the outside screen cracked, so I thought I’d step up to a PDA.  But I wasn’t willing to shell out the $400 for an iPhone.  So I logged on to AT & T’s website and there it was.  Refurbished iPhones for sale!  The bargain hunter has scored again!  So for $250, which is still a lot of money I think, I got an 8GB iPhone.  If any of you have ever thought of buying refurbished Apple stuff but weren’t sure about it, go for it.  The stuff is brand new.  It’s been tested, there’s no physical blemishes.  It’s totally worth it.

Just in case you forgot what they look like, I took a picture of mine.  I have to say, this thing is killer!  I met with a client yesterday and it was so cool to have all of my contacts, my schedule, my portfolio all in a little palm device.  Totally worth the $$

Easter was a lot of fun this year.  We went to church, which was one of the best Easter services I think I’ve ever been to.  Then we went to my parents house and hung out with them all day.   We had ham, potato salad and my favorite, deviled eggs!
